Of all Things Irish

As I love all things Irish, I am declaring this Love of the Irish month and not just celebrating the singular day for St. Pat. Besides this post are some of my favorite pictures of the lovely emerald isle of Ireland. If I had sufficient funds, I would live there for months at a time. If you haven’t visited yet…what are ye waiting for!

But alas this blog is not a traveling blog but one on writing. That’s a perfect lead in for my favorite Irish authors. This list includes current as well as long gone yet their walks around Dublin are legendary. (Short travel note here…if you visit Dublin do try to take in a literary pub crawl. It’s gives a unique insight into the most notable) So here’s a brief list, though not in any particular preference…
Brendan Behan
Frank McCourt
James Joyce
Jonathan Swift
Oliver St John Gogarty
Oscar Wilde
Maeve Binchy

And here’s a lovely bit of Irish philosophy…

There are only two things to worry about:
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about.

But if you are sick, there are two things to worry about:
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, then there is nothing to worry about.

But if you die, there are two things to worry about:
Either you will go to heaven or you will go to hell.
If you go to heaven, then you have nothing to worry about.

But if you go to hell, you'll be so busy shaking hands
with all your friends, then you won't have time to worry!
